Guidelines for Students amid COVID-19

Dear Friends,

Our world has changed through the Covid-19 virus pandemic, in ways that we have little control over. This can be very confusing for students.

Attached is a helpful article with guidelines how to handle global upheaval and feelings of personal powerlessness. We need one another in times like this to support one another as followers of Christ. Trust in God at difficult times can bring great peace and hope.

God is our only true hope and He promised to be with His children and guide them in difficult times. ( Read John 14: 26-27: Philippians 4:6-9) Let us stay connected and support each other and share God’s hope with the world.

Greetings

STC Goes Where Others Fear To Tread

It was in 2014 that a private Christian boy's school in Colombo took the plunge, and decided to introduce Sound Mind Sound Body to its students. It is a programme that teaches children, amongst other things, to be respectful of the other, staying safe from sexual predators, breaking down gender stereotyping, anti-bullying, the effects of drugs, protecting the environment, and sexual and reproductive rights.

Online Safety Guideline for Children (E)

During this time of social distancing, the online world has been a big benefit to us all. It is the closest window into the outside world and helps us get most of our work done. With the beginning of online teaching and increased online interactions, your child will also be using the internet much more than before and this will be normal. However, we as a school recommend a few guidelines to help maintain the safety and wellbeing of your child.
